Orienteering is a low-cost, outdoor activity that is fun for all ages and abilities. Organized events take place in forests and parks in Nova Scotia on select weekends throughout the year, but there are also online events through the MapRun app that you can complete in your own time.
According to Canada’s physical activity guidelines for adults, engaging in 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per week (20 to 25 minutes a day) can make us less tense. Spending time outside in nature at a park, in the woods or even in your back yard, can improve your mental and physical health, especially when it is combined with exercise.
